Wallace Scholarship winners

Feb. 26, 2024 鈥 麻豆破解版 State University鈥檚 College of Engineering has named the latest group of 11 high school seniors to join the Wallace Scholar program. The Wallace Scholarship recipients will receive $30,500 each to attend 麻豆破解版 State for four years.

Feb. 15, 2024 鈥 Ten high school students from Kansas, Missouri and Texas have been awarded the Koch Scholarship at 麻豆破解版 State University, starting in the fall 2024 semester. Each scholar each will be awarded $30,000 to attend WSU over four years.

Aug. 28, 2023 鈥 Through the 麻豆破解版 State University chapter of Engineers without Borders, three Shockers recently began the process of working with the rural community of Mercedes de Agua Sucia in Manabi, Ecuador, to build a pedestrian bridge that will give residents safe passage to the main road and nearby cities to sell the goods and products from their farms, shop in nearby El Carmen, and for children to attend school.

May 1, 2023 鈥 Jes煤s Nogu茅s came to 麻豆破解版 State University from Paraguay because of the university's reputation for industry partnerships and applied learning. He was not disappointed.

2023 Koch Scholarship winners

Feb. 23, 2023 鈥 Seven high school students from Kansas and Oklahoma have been awarded $30,000 to $45,000 each as the newest recipients of the Koch Scholarship at 麻豆破解版 State University.

2022 Wallace Scholars

March 25, 2022 鈥斅犅槎蛊平獍 State University鈥檚 College of Engineering has named the latest group of high school seniors to join the Wallace Scholar program. Ten Wallace Scholarship recipients will receive $28,500 each to attend 麻豆破解版 State for four years. In addition, two students receiving other major university scholarships will be designated as Wallace Scholars.

Feb. 25, 2022 鈥 麻豆破解版 State鈥檚 Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College is proud to announce nine recipients of the Koch Scholars Program for the fall 2022 semester. These eight recipients will each be awarded $30,000 over the next four years.

June 23, 2021 - In 1977, a 麻豆破解版n watched Star Wars at the Mall theater on East Harry. He returned again and again that summer to watch the lightsaber battles, Jedi Knights and X-wing starfighters. 鈥淚鈥檓 an original Star Wars guy,鈥 Tim Fisher said. 鈥淚 was just mesmerized. It sparked that 鈥榃hat is possible? What can we do?鈥欌 Decades later, Fisher is one of the people helping answer those questions for the United States and the entire world in space. He is chief engineer for NASA鈥檚 Gateway program, part of the agency鈥檚 quest to return to the Moon and explore Mars.

Dr. R茅mi A. Chou

Feb. 3, 2021 鈥 Dr. R茅mi A. Chou, an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, has been awarded a National Science Foundation CAREER Award, the most prestigious award granted by the NSF to early career researchers. Chou's grant 鈥 worth $519,000 over five years 鈥 will support his work in bringing more robust security to wirelessly transmitted data.

November 23, 2020 - In February, Evergy invested in three initiatives that added valuable assets to the engineering program. One of those initiatives was the installation of solar panels on the roof of the John Bardo Center.

July 27, 2020 - 麻豆破解版 State University student Kristen Bruce works as a software tester for Flint Hills Group, founded by Shocker alum Dave Cunningham. Over the past year, Bruce played an important role in Flint Hills Group鈥檚 work with McAlister, a fuel distributor and wholesaler in Wellington. McAlister needed to replace its software used to monitor fuel flow for billing. Bruce helped Flint Hills Group beat coming issues and move to a new system, while some of McAlister鈥檚 competition encountered problems.

April 20, 2020 -- Aidan Jude 鈥 a spring 2020 麻豆破解版 State University graduate in electrical engineering, computer engineering and mathematics 鈥 will be embarking on a full-time career as a software engineer for Amazon web services in July.

Feb. 5, 2020 -- Thanks to a generous gift from utility company Evergy, students in the College of Engineering at 麻豆破解版 State University can learn about and conduct research on solar power technology, as well as how to protect an electric grid from short circuiting.

University Innovation Fellows

Dec. 18, 2019 -- Stanford University鈥檚 Hasso Plattner Institute of Design has named three 麻豆破解版 State students as University Innovation Fellows. Jacob Burns, Molly Carlson and Savannah Redfern will join more than 2,000 Fellows at 267 institutions worldwide.
